CAT meets Noordkaap – Call for Entries: video, animation, moving image!
We invite artists, students, but also citizen reporters, journalists, video-bloggers, documentary story tellers, animators and new media-makers to apply.
Noordkaap is an artist initiative from The Netherlands. Noordkaap developes a series of exhibitions in Europe responding to the phenomenon Populism. With an international network of artists, the program takes a strong research angle. Populist movements often respond to emotions, whether hidden or expressed, that are caused by globalization, Europe’s expansion, immigration, unemployment, and feelings of fear and insecurity. Noordkaap wants to question Populism in an accessible manner, and open up the discussion to a wider audience through artistic intervention.
The exhibitions are expanded with a series of screenings of selected screen-based submissions. For the videoscreenings in Cologne (DE), Lisboa (PT), Budapest (HU) and/or in Dordrecht (NL) you can submit your video | animation | moving image. We especially encourage applicants residing in Cologne, Lisboa, Budapest and Dordrecht to submit to this call.
Selected work will be shown to the public within the setting of the exhibitions and on the streets in our mobile projectspace.
